POSITION                   :Financial Controller

SITE                           :Planet Care Gauteng (KZN)

REPORTING TO        :Financial Manager

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To support the finance and administration function by ensuring accurate month-end reporting, strong financial controls, and efficient day-to-day finance operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparation of Management Accounts
• Ensure timely debtors collections
• Ensure stock take accuracy
• Investigate stock variances and obsolete stock
• Maintain accounting records and general ledger
• Processing month-end journals
• Preparation and submission of VAT 201
• Processing of stock adjustments
• Ensure business processes effectively mitigate risk and maintain strong internal controls
• Supervise staff and ensure deadlines are met
• Prepare and complete accounting functions up to balance sheet
• Manage tax clearance and SARS eFiling

REQUIRED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

• Must be computer literate (MS Word, Intermediate/Advanced Excel, ERP Accounting Software).
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good analytical thinking
• Must be proactive, have good time management, organisational and prioritising skills
• Be able to work under pressure, multitask and be a team player
• Knowledge and experience with exports

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or CIMA completed
• Minimum 5 years’ working experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting and analysis
